Post subject:  Different flight conditions w/ rescue

I usually fly helicopters but I want to try an acro plane now.

I would like to set up three flight conditions:

FC1: gyro off (global gyro gain=0) for trim flights.

FC2: rate mode (Stabi disabled; global gyro gain < 0) for smooth flights in windy conditions and for landing. I read in one of the threads that landing with heading locked (HL) could cause bouncing of the plane during landing. So, would you recommend to land in rate mode to avoid this problem?

FC3: HL mode (global gyro gain > 0) for acro flights.

I also want to utilize the rescue feature in all three FCs. The rescue function should be activated through a separate switch.

For FC1: would the rescue work with global gyro gain =0, or do I have to set the gain to a positive number when pulling the rescue switch?

For FC2, my understanding is that the stabi function needs to be disabled in order to use rate mode. So, my plan is to switch the bank when the rescue switch is pulled. The other bank has the rescue mode enabled and I don't have to change the global gain from negative to positive, correct?
Does this work? Is there a significant delay or another problem when the stabi function is switched from disabled to rescue while using rate mode?

Thanks, Peter
