Post subject:  Heli should not beam up so much at activation of auto-rescue

Hi Tomáš,

I love the auto-rescue enabling method at current altitude. However, it would be nice if the heli would not perform a full rescue at the time of activation. Normally the heli would be in upright position at this point in time and it seems that it does a full rescue adding both the delay before turning the heli upright and then in addiont the duration of the rescue time. As a result the heli beams up some 10 or 20m the moment the auto-resuce is activated.

It would be nice if the heli just does a very short jump upwards indicating that auto-rescue is now active.

There is a potential risk that someone activates auto-rescue while in up-side-down orientation, so a short jump with positive pitch could be dangerous in such case. This would have to be taken into consideration when implementing a change. Heli should always make a short jump upwards, never down.

Regards
Bernd

Hi,

thank you for your message.
It seems like a good question.

The way it is now is because when the Auto Rescue is not enabled and you want to do a Rescue, it can save your helicopter when you engage it in a bad scenario.
So it might be needed that the unit should perform full rescue actually.

Thanks for your feedback. You are right, this may be an option to safe the heli in case someone only configured auto-rescue and not manual rescue in addion via a momentary switch.
The auto-rescue is typically activated by a fixed position swith.
Well, its difficult to say what is the better way. The safer way is as it is currently.

Would be interesting to here what other people have to say about it.

Cheers,
Bernd

You are right, we can add some kind of adjustment or checking if model is flying down or is at a steady height.
If it will be engaged while hovering it can make just a short bump.

That would be fantastic.

+1 for this way of activating ! With small bump

Hi Tomáš,
are you still considering to implement the change so that the heli does not beam up when activating auto-rescue.
Looking forward to it.
Best regards,
Bernd

Hi Tomáš,
is there still a chance to see this improvement in the near future?

Yes, new parameter will allow change of how long the model flies up.
So you can sort it in this way.

It would be nice to get a warning via telemetry, if the heli appoaches the auto rescue limit, e.g. 2m above. This would solve problems with most unexpectes rescue actions. The principal problem is, that there is a drift in the barometric sensor and also, air pressure depends on wind and backward/normal flying... Therefore the height for auto rescue is not stable.
