Post subject:  Returns procedure?

I need to return a faulty GEO unit. Is there a specific procedure? I have raised the varying compass reading issue with Tomáš, but so far not received any guidance on the return procedure. The readings vary by more than 90 degrees, which is way more than Tomáš advised is acceptable (4 deg)
My first flight will be 12th January if the preflight checks go OK, without the Geo unit fitted.

Maiden flight went well. Looking forwards to learning how to tune the system.

Hello,

we are checking each unit before shipping. So there is basically super small chance it is damaged or not working well.
How you found it is working incorrectly?

2nd flight went even better.

3rd flight very smooth, steady hover, until it increased head speed from around 1,500 to 2,300 with no change at Tx, no increase in height, gently rolled right, ignored left correction from Tx and hit the ground. Broken U/C legs and one blade. Cosmetic damage only to the scale body shell, damaged to U/C mounting light plywood.

Scale body removed, Spirit unit relocated to rear of heli mounting point ready for retest.

I still need the return details. If I haven't heard today I will post on Monday to the address on the website.

That is very sad. Have you any logs from these flights?
I am asking because headspeed change and GeoLink (any function) has no relation to each other.
Even with a defective GeoLink the headspeed should never change on its own.

So I am afraid there are more things to check.

Our address is at this page:
https://spirit-system.com/contact.php

Please send the unit to us (if you think it is faulty in any way) and we will check it with our models.
Also please attach a note with your email address.

It is important to declare package value to 10 USD or less. And if possible, please mark it as a FREE SAMPLE or Reason for export: WARRANTY REPAIR. Then the package should arrive safely

The Geolink wasn't fitted when it tipped to the right, or for any of the flights. I have the Jeti log of the flight, but on the Spirit unit I can only get a very basic log. There only seems to be one opportunity to download that, as it's overwritten at the next power up? Is there an email I can send the Jeti log file to?

The unit is on it's way back now. The new replacement I purchased appears to hold a much more consistent heading so far on a static test.

Hello,

please send email to tomasj@spirit-system.com.
We will check the unit and see what could be wrong. Thank you!

If there is some important flight log in the unit then log is saved. JETI log can be very helpful in any case.
