Post subject:  Rescue(normal) not horizontal

Hi!

I have a major issue with the rescue function:
If I activate the rescue(normal) mode while hovering the heli moves up in an angle/sideways instead. I tried it several times.

Since I already read some posts about similar issues I did some tests:

1) I removed the main blades and kept the tail blades mounted. Heli was placed on the carpet.
2) I activated the rescue mode right after initialization. The swashplate moved up straight without any visible angle.
3) I started the motor. ~1900 rpm on main rotor. The vibration analysis displayed no strong vibrations (max. 45% in y-axis, see attachment). Then I stopped the motor.
4) I then activated the rescue mode again. => But then, the swashplate was strongly tilted and never levelled back.

This behavior is always reproducable. Sometimes the swash moves 2 times as it would do during a real rescue action?!, but never straight up as expected.
(Also nothing special in the log file: Sometimes 'Cyclic Ring' messages)

If there is no strong vibration, what could cause the rescue misalignment?

Thank you!

Hello,

the angle could be caused by ESC fan.

Can you tell me what Spirit unit and what firmware version do you have?

Can you press CTRL+ALT+M in the Spirit Settings and write the values you see here?

Hi!

Thank you for the fast response!
I have a Spirit 2 unit on a Logo 500. My ESC does not have a fan: Robbe Roxxy 9100-6
Soft.Ver. is 3.1.0.

I took several values, because the values scatter a bit.
Right after initialization i get:
-12 -10 2050
7 12 2048
While motor is running with tail blades on i get:
-4419 1191 1106
5 591 1058
After stopping the motor i get:
- 2 19 2052
-19 61 2038

Thank you!

Could you please enable Expert settings / Extended signal processing please?
Then restart the unit and repeat the test with rescue mode.

I hope it will help you.

Can you also let me know how the unit is mounted at the model? Is there something that is touching the unit? For example a free connector/cable.

Thank you!

No, there is no cable or sth. else touching the unit, I checked it beforehand.
It seems to be better now. I'll try it while hovering tomorrow.

Additionally, I realized that I have stronger vibrations (75% on y-axis) if I attach the battery. For testing it was laying aside.
Maybe I can get the in-flight vibration log working until tomorrow to see how it looks like during flight.

One more thing I realized:
Right after initialization, if I set maximum pitch and activate rescue afterwards, the swashplate tilts to the left.
This would also explain why the heli is rescued in an angle......

Hello!

I tried rescuing several times yesterday.
What should I say, it worked!
So expert settings did the trick.
(Although I still don't understand the weird swash behavior on the ground)

Again, thank you very much for your help!

Btw., do I have any disadvantages keeping this option set?
