Hi, this is my fist post here, excuse my english!

I bought a Spirit, because in Spring I crashed my Voodoo 600 when practising Piroflips
and after this had fear to try it again. So I decided to try it with Spirit (User-Comments,
Support, Price). I put it on my Voodoo 400. Aim reached, I do Piroflips now :D (lookin'
cruel  ). The only issue is a 'Dolfin'-Effect in Fast forward Fly. I could reduce it
in the Settings, but cannot eliminate it. So I tried V 1.3, it seems a little better. Nearly all
other Things satisfy me (Bailout with 'automatic' Flip ist great).
On the 6°-Adjustment I have only a Value of 85 (Recommended Minimum:90). May this
cause my Issue? In this Case I would have to change Linkage-Geometry. Not so easy.
My current Settings are:

Any Suggestions??

Thanks and Regards from GER

Bernd

Hi,

welcome in our forum!

Mostly the dolphin effect is caused with Spirit, when your Cyclic Ring - Aileron / Elevator is small, that the helicopter is unable to mechanically compensate required force.
So then when doing FFF and especially with collective movement together, you can observe abnormal Pitch Up.
So increasing this parameter as high as mechanically possible should solve the problem, alternatively reducing the Collective Pitch range should help as well.

If this is not the case and dolphin looks differently - it is going up and down, then there may be inprecise Cyclic settings - servo arms and/or Subtrim (tuning) settings. So when you enable this option, all servo arms should be exactly at the center position and your cyclic should be levelled with cyclic leveler. When you mount the rotor head your blades should be at 0° too.

As the last option, you can play with Cyclic gain.

If nothing will help, then your blades may be not suitable for Flybarless helicopters. 90% of flybar blades are usable also with FBL systems, but some, especially thus that reacts very agressively, are not suitable at all.

Thanks ZeXx for your quick response and your Wellcome!!

Sorry, I forgot to tell what I've tryed out before: I read other Posts
in this Forum and put cyclic Limit to the max. ~13°, then I lowered
collective to 12° (from 13°). That improved it a little bit.
I try to explain "my" Dolfin (that's difficult also in my language :? ):
in FFF when I do Pitchpumps the Nose goes up and down corresponding
with Pitch-Stick. When I start tuning, the Elevator-Behavior on Pitch-up
was permanent when Stickmove stops. Vince versa. The Behavior
correlates to the Speed of the Heli. After spending some Time for tuning,
the Elevator-Behavior is no more permanent, will say the Elevating-Angle
goes back to the same as before when Stickmove stops. That's a big
Improvement against when I started, but I try to get it just a bit better.

My previous FBL (AC-3X, supplied with the Heli) works very well, I ever try
to do a precise mechanical Setup (0 Pitch in the middle, 90° linkage, few
clearence etc.), in such Things I am "normaly" very meticulous.

I tried Cyclic gain-Values between 35 and 75 (also to understand how it works),
but I got no really Improvement with the Dolfin-Behavior. If there is no other
Opportunity, I think about shortening Servo-Arms to get at 6°-Adjustment a
higher Value, but this brings other mechanical difficulties.

Best Regards Bernd

Edit: Forgot to say, Mainblades are Helitec HT-465-PL, witch are recommended
by the Manufactorer.
