Hi guys, just looking for clarification on my understanding of wiring up a Spirit 2, R-XSR with F.port firmware, and Spirit FrSky integration cable.

According to https://manual.spirit-system.com/index.php?title=FrSky_FPort, the integration cable alone can not power the receiver:

Quote:
Please connect also a direct cable for powering the receiver to AUX2 port if possible - this cable is supplied with Spirit unit. Alternatively you can use a secondary BEC power cable to power the receiver. FrSky integration cable can't feed power to the receiver alone so without this, it can't work.

Since the receiver only has one +5v pin, am I correct in understanding that I will need to run a cable from AUX2 into a Y harness (or solder) to combine the red wires into the +5v pin?

Thanks

Edit: added diagram

Hello,
I think you need extra cable from Aux2, I would take plus and minus and no signal !
You can take an Y-cable to connect both plugs together -
And about the 5V+, thats only the positive pole for the powersource -

Operating voltage range is given by FrSky in the attached picture:

Oops, yeah you're right. Thanks for your help.

Updated the diagram. How does that look? Is there anything else I might be missing? Apologies if these are noob questions, I am a cave man from the nitro flybar FM radio period.

Thanks a lot mate. The thing that still confuses me is that the Spirit 2 manual states that it includes a cable for this purpose. Maybe the level of assumed knowledge is higher than what my lizard brain has, but the unit comes with a couple of standard servo cables and a 3-pin at one end, which splits into 3 separate connectors. I don't see how this configuration can connect these components without the addition of a Y-cable or soldering? Do other receivers have additional power pins? I'm new to the modern RC landscape so this stuff is new to me.

I tried to copy it into an Excel table with pictures, doesn't look particularly nice, but you can imagine it better - Of course, only plus and minus from Aux2 and no signal, I couldn't display it like that, so it's simplified...

Cheers for that mate, it looks like what you've explained and drawn up is consistent with my understanding of how it ought to be. I just acquired a Y cable so I'm going to wire it up in the next few days. I really appreciate your input, thank you.
