Somehow I can't get it working. I made the cables and I think it's correct. I verified that on the output connector (red one, to be connected to SYS) I have ground from battery. I can also measure on the output port, that there's 3.3V between each signal wire (orange and red) and the ground on same connector.

Also updated WiFi Link to 3.5. Spirit units are also 3.5.

But Android app shows "Spirit Unit not found" and Web app shows "connection problem" when trying to enter Spirit settings.

Any idea what I could check?

BTW.
Is it possible, or could it be, to connect the smartphone to Spirit Unit with a normal Spirit-Link cable (for PC) and OTG cable for the smartphone (USB-A <--> USB-C cable)?

I think the shown wire harness is wrong. The sysport plug schould have only two wires not three.

Hmm maybe I got it wrong. But I thought the idea is to have ground in the SYS. Just like with the cable which is used to connect to PC. Or not?

Hi

Just look at the wifi module plug. You have only two wires plugged into the middle and lower position if you connect it to the spirit. In your harnes they are connected into the higher and middle position because you added the gnd. Leaf the original plug like it was just add the gnd from the battery to one of the other places like the Aux2 or ch0.

The whole point of this is that I have several helicopters, where SYS is available for programming but all other ports are unavailable or protected and glued. So I don't have any aux or ch0. And I wanted to use WiFi teporarily, because at the moment integration over FrSky S.Port doesn't work. I don't want to rewire helis for this temporary solution.

But as far as I know SYS has ground on the third pin. Otherwise I don't know how connectivity with PC could work. I also just verified, that if I connect everything, Negative terminals of both batteries (model pack and 2s for wifi) are shorted. So I think common ground is there. But it doesn't work anyway.

I think you can not use the GND from the Sys-Port as you see here -

Sorry my mistake. I saw the to wires and thought it would be the same like in my HOTT integration. There i use only the low two pins.

I think it's not about using ground from SYS port, but of connecting WiFi-Link and Sprit unit grounds together. If WiFi-Link is powered from the unit or BEC, it happens naturally. But as I power it from a 2s Lipo, they need to be connected together. That's how I understand it (or wrong?).

But I just now tested without the harness. I found I can easily disconnect 2nd BEC wire from ESC in one heli and I power WiFi-Link with this BEC wire. So I tested a normal setup as per manual. And I have same problem. WiFi works, but it doesn't connect to Spirit unit. So I think the problem is somewhere else.
