What this function should do?

Altitude Hold is function of the GeoLink module and it is available for all Spirit units.

then as thomas says you need geolink

maybe pressure sensor alone is not enough
for the precision needed for altitude hold
and all other geolink sensors are needed
( gps - laser )

On my BD Axon, Beast+ and Naza H it works without Gps

Altitude Hold in other products is very different.
It will actually not hold altitude at all, only stop the movement temporarily if there is no Barometer or GPS sensor or other altitude sensor. BD Axon or Microbeast has nothing like this.
Then it will start drifting sooner or later, so it can't fly hands free for longer time. With GeoLink it can fly hands free for unlimited time basically.
