Yes the LED is getting solid after a few pulses and yes i can still connect to my computer successfully. With V2.6 i am able to change settings and stuff so there is no problem. If i try to connect with V3.3.3 it recognizes the unit and prompts me to update the fbl otherwise its not compatible with the software. On this software i can only access the update tab (of course), but as mentioned above, flashing via this software is resulting in shutting down the fbl and the LED goes out.
I installed the USB driver during the installation process of software V3.3.3. Should be a working version.
Anyways, if this is still not sufficient and you think its driver related then please guide me as to what you think would most likley deliver the desired results. What i do not understand is, why it would be a driver problem if i can access the unit normaly, however i am not an expert on this matter, so far every Silab or FTDI adapter has worked as intended as long as it was showing up as COM Port. And the adapter is working for normal stuff, just not for flashing.
Your help is much appreciated!

So to round up things here, thanks to your hint that this is a driver problem, i managed to update both of my units without any troubles.
In case others are reading this in the future with the same problem. 1) Plug in the USB adapter 2) Go to your device manager and find the adapter 3) Deinstall it including all the drivers 4) Install or reinstall Spirit software with the driver checkbox ticked on 5) Everything should work after this
Thank you for all your support!
