I have setup the GTR with my DS-16 and loving the FBL so far.

I have a problem with the failsafe though as it only gives me the option to set the "failsafe" positions to predetermined values.

From all the reading I have done and on every other heli I have setup I always set my throttle to go to "zero" and all the other channels to "hold" their position. All Jeti receivers give you the 3 options for each channel when you set it up "failsafe", "hold" or "off". Only "failsafe" is available on the GTR.

Why are the other options not available or am I just missing them somewhere in setup?

Regards

I'd love to know about this as well. I feel that failsafe should only move throttle and flight surfaces should be held. Like Chippie I've been unable to find a way to do this with the GT I have and so am setting failsafe in my TX.

In the general tab, click on channels:

Failsafe
For a PPM, Futaba S-BUS, Spektrum DSM2/X, Jeti EX Bus, SRXL/SUMD receiver types you can set the Failsafe directly in the unit. Channel values are stored immediately after clicking the Set failsafe button. In case that the signal is lost for more than 1 second it will set the values automatically in the flight.

That should get you close.

Hello,

there is only possibility to set predefined values for failsafe.
With almost all FBL units, if you will hold channel value for any channel such as Aileron, Elevator, Rudder out of center, it will be rotating - so it will continue in the maneuver you were performing.
For example when you will loose signal during flips, it will continue flipping.

With Spirit units you can set failsafe so that it will do nothing and just fall in the last condition. Or you can engage stabilisation and level the model during falling to minimize damage.

Thanks for the responses I really appreciate it.

ZeXx86 if "Hold" is what it does when it loses signal you are right in saying "so it will continue in the maneuver you were performing". This behavior I feel is the safest as the heli will not suddenly change its flight path if signal is lost. If I compare it to throwing any object, it will be easier to avoid (or catch) if the object does not suddenly change its path while it is traveling through the air.

I do believe cutting throttle(preset value) and "holding" all others will be the safest when all control is lost over a heli as it will provide for the best chance of keeping a consistent trajectory through the air which will make avoiding the heli easier if it travels towards you.

I know some people prefer setting "preset" values and as such I believe you should keep the option so they can choose to use it but personally I would feel substantially safer with a "hold" option.

Please and it is a very big please would you add the "hold" option?
