Hi,

I have not been flying my RC helis (Gaui X3L & SAB Goblin 380) for more that 2 years now, only my Quadcopters, so I don't know which FrSky receiver should I get for those 2 Helis running Spirit 1 gen. and Spirit Pro. A lot of new receivers came out from FrSky in 2 years now, so I'm a bit lost and need your help.
In my quads, I'm only running the R9 system so i'm totaly lost in the 2.4GHz world.

Thanks.

It will depend on the firmware your frsky tx is running. Is it the older accst or the newer access firmware? If it's the older then the RX6R is a decent receiver with sbus and smartport for telemetry. If it's a newer tx then the same receiver can be flashed with the access firmware so your covered either way. Have a look in Hobbyrc.co.uk, as if your not comfortable flashing firmware then they do it for £1.99 for you :)
Hope this helps,
Pete

I'm using the Horus x10s express with the latest OpenTX and ISRM v2.1.0.
What about something with OTA, the Archer series maybe?
And no problem for me, flashing the firmware myself :)

I was asking about the firmware protocol....accst or access. By the sound of it you are using the newer access protocol. The new Archer series looks to have a lot of choices. If it were me for your heli this.....https://www.frsky-rc.com/product/archer-r6/ would be my recommendation. It's got all the bells and whistles for a very small full range receiver, plus telemetry. win, win :)
Even this would be more than enough...https://www.frsky-rc.com/product/archer-r4/

Thanks Pete.
What do you say about the Archer RS?

Personally i would stick with the R4 at the very least. The RS looks to be aiming at the Quad side of the hobby. If you were to get into any issues then you may have to de-solder joints etc....
bit more of a pain to work with, rather than the ease of plugging in connectors, instead of soldering.
Just my opinion though :)

I use rxsr for everything I fly that has a flight controller. Hopefully spirit will support f.port one day and make the wiring simpler.
