I'm repairing an Align 700E for a friend.
He said that it just went "unresponsive" and fell into the deck.
It landed in VERY soft mud but it was obviously still quite an impact, the main shaft is VERY bent, tail snapped off, the plastic mount where the spirit was mounted is shattered, the spirit ripped off the mount.
After examining it, it looks like the two power plugs from the BEC have become removed from the RX and this might have been the cause of the crash.
What I'd like to know and I suspect only Tomas will really be able to tell me is if there is any way to know if the Spirit has sustained any damage that would mean it shouldn't be flown again?
Whilst there is no obvious physical damage something in the back of my head says that one of the sensors used in the unit can be damaged by physical shock?

Other than being covered in mud, the Spirit looks fine, no bent plugs/connectors etc
I've just spent a whole hour removing enough mud to be able to see the model properly!!

**(I've not even tried to power it up yet, I still need to carefully remove all the mud first!!)**
I HAVE now powered the unit up and it seems ok but has very old FW on it.
I'd like to read the log if possible but don't wanna risk losing it by updating the software.

Any advice would be great.
Cheers
D

Oh, that is very sad.

If you can't see any damage to the Spirit unit and connectors/PCB is holding in the case properly there should be no problem.
We have no case of damage after impact within 10 years.

To be sure you can open the Diagnostic tab and check if there is some spike when unit is with no motion.
There should be nothing, no spike or percentage visible at any axis if unit is not moving at all.

But if you want to be perfectly sure we can inspect the unit for free.

It's good of you to offer Tomas.
The sensor outputs look stable so we'll see how it goes.
Kind regards
