Hi,

I have a YGE 200 Opto with the extra cable for the programmer which you can also use as rpm-output, if you want to use an external governor.
The Spirit takes the rpm signal in the middle-pin of the ELE/PIT/AIL that's clear so far.
The output cable of the YGE has the standard brown, red, yellow layout. The manual says, for VBar governor you have to use a special adapter cable where yellow and brown are connected (I read somewhere that this is to reduce noise in the rpm signal). The VBar takes the brown and the red cable as input.
In another forum I found the hint, that the rpm-signal is on the red pin. So this is a bit confusing. Normally I would just take the yellow cable (signal) and plug it to the PIT-pin on the Spirit.
Has someone the combo YGE HV / Spirit with external governor in use and can help me with the wiring? I don't want to fry my precious spirit pro ;)

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Stefan

Wire it as shown in the yge manual.
Only the rpm pin is different to the vstabi.

Hi,

please use the connector from YGE as is, just unplug orange wire - this is used for ProgCard.
Red wire is RPM Signal output and Brown is Ground.
YGE recommend to connect also Orange wire to Ground to reduce noise.

OK, thanks. Just saw in the manual that on the self-made adapter cable that the yellow and brown wire are connected and the red wire is soldered to the loose end of the yellow wire on the vbar. It is even labeled as "Speed sense". I must have missed that.

So I will only connect the red cable to the PIT pin. Ground is already connected to the Spirit via the other esc-cable. Or shall I connect the extra-ground to another port on the Spirit?

Regards,
Stefan

It might work well with only PIT pin connected, but YGE mentions specially for this model to connect both orange and brown to the ground else there is excess noise. More groundings, the cleaner signal is.

OK, but where do I plug the combined orange/brown cable into the Spirit? Connect it to the ground on another port?
Y-Cable to the Throttle-Port maybe?

Ok, thanks.
I will connect the ground to any free port either on the Spirit or the receiver. Should make no difference.

If you have a free Spektrum connector, you can connect ground also there. But any port from receiver should be good. Closer to the unit will make a better result.
