Hi,

im flying three of my Helis with the Spirit FBL and i´m very happy with them. Most Problems i could solve by myself and with the forum ;)
So now i got a Problem which i cannot solve. Yesterday i was flying on realy good weather conditions with my Bo105:

700er 4 Blade halfsym. based on a T-Rex 550 Pro DFC

I´m only flying carful scale aerobatics (Loops, Turns) and round flight, yesterday a bit more "speedy" and while this the heli reared up/pulled up to an angle of about 60°-70° and nearly stopped. How can i compensate this behaviour?

Greets
Marcel

Hi Marcel,

if the problem (pitch up) happen during fast forward flight abruptly (fast) then it could be caused by too low Aileron/Elevator range value. Is it possible to increase the value without mechanical binding?

This mean, that the problem happen when there is no possibility to compensate it (because of small cyclic angle). With bigger collective pitch, the problem can happen more often. But with higher cyclic pitch, it can be fixed completely.

Hi,

a low cyclic range is possible (it was abruptly) There are about 6° (at 10° collective) at the Moment, for more i must change the linkage on the bladeholder... The CopterX aead has really long arms on them which results in long servoways.

So i think its a mechanic problem i have to fix, do you agree?

Hi,

yes, if there is just 6° then it is very likely the problem. Alternative solution is to decrease Collective Pitch. But still it will be "on the edge".

Hi,

less collective pitch is no option. There is not much power at all and i don´t want higher headspeeds.
Yesterday evening i drilled new holes for the linkage in the bladeholderarms, now it´s possible to get about 10°-11° cyclic at +-10° collective. I think this should be much better than 6°, next step is a testflight.

Can you tell me a max. pitchlevel collective+cyclic? i won´t get problems caused by too high levels with low headspeed (1000-1100rpm)

Perfect,

If there are 700mm blades, then I do not recommend more than 10° cyclic. It depends just on construction of the model.
If tail is not close and blades can't make a contact, then it is safe.

Usually only very agressive maneuvers or Rescue activation can cause a boom strike. Maybe with small camera you can record the model during flight and try it with a safer values and observe how close are blades.

ok, i´ll try to check this. Especially becuase the 700er Spinblades are very very soft.

Is there any possibility to activate the rescue in a softer way than for normal 3D Helis? Softer in that way, that the max angle of the blades for rescue will be reached not as fast as the servos are, rather in a time about .25 - 1sec form activation max angle (like a ramp). If not i perhaps should write this on the whishlist for scalers ;-) I think ist should be relative easy to implement.

It is not possible to delay rescue/servos, the correct way is to set the limits (angles) so that condition such as boomstrike can never happen.
We can add delay for servos easily, but still there is very big chance, that you can make very same event by sticks during flying.
So if you will set the limits so that it will never be possible in any way, you do not have to worry about rescue too.

But still it is possible we will implement whatever customers will wish and is worth to have.
