Thinner and stronger is best for this unit. Vibrations are no issue. Issues can arise if the unit is not firmly mounted though.

I really like the gray 3m outdoor mounting tape as it is very firm.

Spirit comes with 3M double sided tape and all needed peripherals, so you do not need anything more ;)
