Post subject:  [SOLVED] Geolink 1.2.0 flashing error

Hello,

after installing 3.1 without any problem I tried to update geolink to 1.2.0, but some seconds after starting the process it reports "Flashing fehlgeschlagen" and retrying as suggested in help window doesn't work.
What could be the reason?

Regards, Toni

Usually this happen if GeoLink cable has some defect, so that connection is not 100%. Then during beginning of flashing the process will fail.

You can try to start flashing again in the Recovery mode.
Just start the Spirit unit and Spirit Settings again and select firmware and press Flash and Recovery mode buttons.
Then quickly reconnect power for GeoLink and flashing will begin.

Depending on your unit please do the geolink reconnect fast enough, with uSpirit this process could be more complicated. With Spirit Pro and Spirit 2 you do not have to do it quickly.

Hello Tomáš,

I will control my geolink cable, but up to now there wasn't a problem with it.
I tied recovery mode, but something was not correct - after pressing the button and in the moment of trying to plug in the button servos and motor (!!) moved for a short time.
Is it correct way for recovery mode to first unplug Geolink, then power up spirit, start software, go to geolink, select file, start upload and after error message new software start an then press recovery mode and connect geolink cable to spirit?
I use Spirit pro, so time after pressing the button is not critical when I understand you right.

Regards, Toni

Cable must be unplugged just after pressing flash button. Then immediately plug it again.

Ok, success, it works!

I tried several times and it didn't work.
Only after I deselected geolink and then selected it again it starts flashing immediately.

Thank you for helping,
Toni

Deselecting is not needed so probably it was just coincidence.
But it is great you have sorted it.

You are welcome.

Hi

I also have a problem with gaoling. I upgrade software to 3.1.0 and firmware spirit-pro to 3.1.0.4. Then flash firmware of geolink to 1.2.0.4. First time it got stuck after uploading. Flashed again now it was successful. In the software I can see that both the spirit-pro and the gaoling are now at the latest fw. BUT geolink stopped working. After power up several times ... no flashing blue led on gaoling. It is not looking for satellites. The screen indicates no satelites found. Any ideas how to get the geolink working again?

thnx

Jo
